Convicted Pressure

Convicted Pressure shares stories from people that have been silenced, ignored and bound by the pressure of conviction. It was created by one of our organizers, a woman who was, herself, incarcerated for 15 years. Our goal is to tell the Truth of the criminal “justice” system: the Truth of situations that can lead to incarceration, the Truth of being incarcerated, the Truth of how people remain resilient in spite of the system, and, for those who return home, the Truth of that journey. Included among these Truths is that the pressure of incarceration extends well beyond prison walls to family and friends. You will find a few of their stories shared here as well.

Some Truths are difficult to tell. Some Truths are difficult to read. But without Truth, creating an equitable and just legal system rooted in humanity and respect for will remain an impossible dream. Our hope is that you will read these stories with an eye towards creating Change and making the system we envision a reality.
