“I have a lot of respect for Fred Hampton. He reached across races and gender and invited people to the movement that weren’t Black but were experiencing some of the same kinds of oppression. He really understood how all of our liberation is wrapped up in each other and he knew how to say that in a way that people understood how they fit into the movement.
Changing systems is BIG work. We cannot do it alone. We need everyone who shares our values and analysis of what’s going on. We need their talents and their energy. We need them to bring what they are good at and their best selves to this work.“
