Your Chance to Advocate for Education Funding

Join Emergent Justice and other members of the Michigan Education Justice Coalition (MEJC) in Lansing on April 29th to advocate for increases to 31a and 31aa education funding.

These funds are used for “at-risk” and mental health supports are proven to increase school success and interrupt the school to prison pipeline.  Supports such as:

  • before and after-school programs that help students improve academic performance while providing a safe space for children beyond regular school hours
  • school breakfast
  • hearing and vision screening
  • school nurses and therapists

Does your child use those services? Then our elected officials in Lansing need to know how much they matter to you and your family.

Even if your child doesn’t use these services, their existence contributes to a better school experience for everyone!

So, register and JOIN US on April 29 in Lansing. And don’t worry if this is new to you — you’ll get training and be visiting legislators as part of a small group.

Breakfast, lunch and snacks will also be provided. But you MUST register.
